She is reimagining Danish fashion with her new clothing brand BECH, blending timeless design with inclusivity. With her upcoming collection available on Boozt, we spoke to this inspiring designer about her design journey and how her formative years ignited her lifelong love for fashion.
The fashion world constantly evolves, and emerging designers are at the heart of this transformation. One such talent is Anne-Kathrine Bech Rønn, a rising star in Danish fashion who has gained recognition with her designs in a national TV show where some of the country’s greatest emerging fashion talents compete for a place in the fashion world.
With Anne-Kathrine’s upcoming collection BECH available on Boozt, we asked her about the inspiration behind her collection.
‘The fundamental vision for my brand, BECH, is to create clothing with a long lifespan. I strive for this by focusing on good fit, recognizable and innovative silhouettes, thoughtful details, and high quality in both material and production. My mission is to design clothing for a wider part of the population by avoiding standardised and idealised body measurements, ensuring that the clothing is used, cherished, and preserved.’
Anne-Kathrine's journey as a designer began early, growing up in a creative family that encouraged her artistic exploration. She spent her childhood sewing stuffed animals, which sparked her passion for fashion and craftsmanship. After earning a bachelor's degree from VIA Design and Business in 2023, Anne-Kathrine founded her brand, BECH, focusing on thoughtful, long-lasting designs crafted with care and attention to detail.
‘I enjoy diving into the world of creativity, and sitting in front of a sewing machine is a sanctuary for me. Generally, I am curious by nature, and exploring and experimenting enriches my daily life.’
Anne-Kathrine describes the creative process as long-lasting and believes that a well-executed design takes time. This meticulous approach is central to her brand, where each garment is crafted with care and attention to detail.
‘Craftsmanship is central and requires immersion to create a result that gives emotional value to the person who chooses to wear my design, BECH. My mission is also to design clothing for a wider part of the population by avoiding standardised and idealised body measurements.’
She aims to create inclusive clothes, ensuring they can be worn and cherished by people of all body types and sizes. And where does she gain her inspiration from?
”Aesthetically, I combine Scandinavian simplicity with Japanese references, where the inspiration is rooted in nature, the history of the fashion world, and details based on my upbringing,” she says. This combination results in timeless pieces that feel both modern and rooted in tradition.’
‘I see it as responsible to use existing resources. By manipulating these materials through techniques like embroidery and stitching, I create truly unique pieces that carry an experimental and innovative aesthetic.’
Anne-Kathrine hopes to inspire others to follow their creative passions. If she could offer advice to emerging fashion designers it would be that she hopes that her participation can show that when you invest time and energy in your creativity, you can achieve great results.
‘I hope I can be an inspiration for others, whether it's their first time at the sewing machine or a lifelong passion, to take the leap and dive into creating.’
Her work is a testament to the idea that fashion can be both timeless and forward-thinking, and with BECH now available on Boozt with the first drop in October and the second in March 2025, a wider audience will have the opportunity to experience the beauty and thoughtfulness behind her creations. We are thrilled to be able to support a talented designer who is ready to make an impact on tomorrow's fashion.
