Erika Lagerbielke created a classic the year after she graduated from the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in 1984. At that time, Intermezzo broke away from the colorless aesthetic that had been established in Sweden in the 1950s. Here was someone who wanted to make glass visible and fun, to allow it to be a statement-making element of a table setting. Instead of stepping away from Orrefors’ legacy of beauty and tradition of craftsmanship. Sealed into the glass, rising up from the surface of the table, is a teardrop-shaped mystery. A small, but characteristic detail, which in 2022 will be produced in a golden shade to celebrate Erika's 40 years with Orrefors. Intermezzo gold brings a festive touch to the entire collection and gilds the brand's most iconic tableware range. The glasses come in 2-packs and are mouth-blown in Kosta.
